The first workshop with the focus on internationalization of medical education
The first one-day workshop with the focus on internationalization of medical education in line with the goal of achieving scientific authority in the region, in cooperation with the Vice-Chancellor of Educational Affairs and the Vice-Chancellor of International Affairs of the university was held on Tuesday, January 5th. This workshop was held at Shahid Beheshti Hall with the presence of several members of the Board of Directors, Deans and Associate Deans, faculty members and members of the Board of Transformation of the university and the directors of the International Affairs and Special Guests, Dr. Hashemipour, the Vice-Rector of the International Affairs at the Cyprus International University, Dr. Arab-Kheradmand, the former Vice-Chancellor of International Affairs at Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
The workshop started with Dr. Ziaee, the Vice-Chancellor of Educational Affairs on the internationalization of medical education in line with the developmental packages of the ministry of health, and continued with the words of Dr. Zarghi, the Vice-Chancellor of Research Affairs on the emphasis on the non-separation of research from education. Dr. Yazdani, Dean of School of Medical Education, described the internationalization models and presented strategies for analyzing the regional and suburban markets. Then Dr. Hashemipour spoke about his experiences in the internationalization of Cyprus International Universityand the importance of the scientific communication between the professors and students and the explanation of scientific and research programs. Then Dr. Rahimi, the Head of the International College presented on Horizon 2020, reported on the status of Iranian researchers in Horizon 2020 and outlined the process of registering relevant projects through the portals.
In the following, Dr. Arab-Kheradmand put the key points on the success of the university in attracting international students.
In the end, Dr. Ziaei assessed the workshop as very useful and expressed his hope that using the presentations in this workshop, we would see important achievements for the university in the path of internationalization and, in particular, the transformation of the university.
